The HPR Heavy Duty Steering Links (Tie Rod and Drag Link) for the Mercedes G Wagon will add extra strength and responsiveness in your steering system and are a more rebuildable assembly over the OEM offerings. The Drag Link and Tie Rod can be purchased individually or together with the option of adding the HPR ATS Stabilizer as well.

The HPR HD Steering Links are constructed of 1.5" OD, .250 wall Steel DOM Tube. When designing our links, we had to weigh the benefits between aluminum and steel construction. In the end, a thick wall steel tube made the most sense as it will better maintain its form at all speeds compared to aluminum which makes for the most precise steering response in all situations. Any flex in the steering system can cause the vehicle to wander or veer off course. The steel design will also provide the most strength during off road use so the truck will maintain vehicle alignment better over time even as the truck is being put to work in rough environments. Additionally, should any issues occur with the steering links on the trails, steel is much easier to repair on the spot compared to aluminum.

For HPR HD Tie Rod, we recommend the use of the HPR ATS Adjustable Steering Stabilizer.This stabilizer will provide optimal adjustable damping to the steering wheel and minimize bump steer while also staying up and away from debris/obstacles in this mounting configuration. Unlike most standard stabilizers which are typically charged in one direction causing a slight pull one way, this stabilizer features a through-shaft which allows for balanced, bi-directional damping, taking the place of two standard stabilizers in one.
